Removing keyboard assembly

  • NOTE: The keyboard and the keyboard tray together are called the keyboard assembly.
  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. memory module

    4. PCIe SSD

    5. SATA SSD

    6. WLAN card

    7. WWAN card

    8. heatsink assembly

    9. system board

  3. Disconnect the cables from the palmrest end:
    1. touchpad and USH board cables [1]
    2. keyboard backlight cable [2]
    3. keyboard cable [3]

  4. To remove the keyboard assembly:
    1. Remove the M2 x 2.5 screws (19) that secure the keyboard [1].
    2. Lift the keyboard assembly from the chassis [2].
