Removing the camera

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer
  2. Remove the SD memory card
  3. Remove the optical drive assembly
  4. Remove the base cover
  5. Remove the battery
  6. Remove the WLAN
  7. Remove the SSD
  8. Remove the hard drive assembly
  9. Remove the system fan
  10. Remove the heatsink
  11. Remove the display assembly
  12. Remove the display bezel

Steps

  1. Using a plastic scribe, gently pry the camera off the display back-cover and antenna assembly [1].
  2. Disconnect the camera cable from the camera module [2].
  3. Lift the camera module from the display back-cover and antenna assembly [3].
