Removing the left fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the left fan and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Peel the tape that secures the left-fan cable to the system board.
- Disconnect the left-fan cable from the system board.
- Remove the two screws (M2x4) that secure the left fan to the system board and palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
CAUTION:Do not hold the fan assembly at the center, as it may damage the center bearing.
- Lift the right side of the left fan slightly. Then, slide the left fan to the right to remove it from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
