Removing the Optical Drive

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the stand.
  3. Remove the back cover.
  4. Remove the screw that secures the optical drive to the computer and slide to remove it from the computer.

  5. Remove the screws that secure the optical-drive bracket, and remove it from the optical drive.
