Removing the System Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. stand
    2. back cover
    3. memory
    4. VESA bracket
    5. system-board shield
    6. heatsink
    7. WLAN card
  3. Disconnect the following from the system board:
    1. camera cable
    2. LVDS cable
    3. system-fan cable
    4. hard-drive/optical-drive power cable
    5. optical-drive cable
    6. hard-drive cable
    7. convertor-board cable
    8. power-switch cable
    9. speaker cable

  4. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the computer. Lift to release the system board and remove it from the computer.
