Removing the 5.25-inch optical drive

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. side cover
  3. To remove the 5.25-inch optical drive:
    1. Disconnect the power cable and the SATA cable from the optical drive.
      Removing the 5.25 optical drive
    2. Push down on the release latch [1].
    3. Slide the optical drive out of the system [2].
