Removing the heat sink

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. hard drive assembly

    4. WLAN card

    5. memory

    6. keyboard

    7. palmrest

    8. display cable

    9. system fan

    10. system board

  3. To remove the heat sink:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the heat sink to the system board [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] .
    2. Lift and remove the heat sink from the computer [7].
