Removing the Optical Drive

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. cover
    2. front bezel
  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Disconnect the data cable and the power cable from the back of the optical drive.
    2. Slide and hold the optical-drive latch to unlock the optical drive [1].
    3. Pull the optical drive out of the computer [2].

  4. Repeat steps 3 remove the second optical drive (if available).
