Removing the M.2 SSD
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the microSD card.
- Remove the base cover.
- Disconnect the battery cable.
About this task
NOTE The computer supports one M.2 2230 solid-state drive or one M.2 2280 solid-state drive at a time. The following instructions indicates the steps to remove only one M.2 SSD card as both the cards utilizes the same slot.
Steps
- Remove the two (M2x3) screws that secure the M.2 SSD support bracket to the palmrest [1].
- Slightly turn and remove the SSD support bracket from the M.2 SSD slot [2].
- Remove the single (M2x2) screw that secures the M.2 SSD to the palmrest [1].
- Lift the M.2 SSD away from the computer [2].
