The Light Weight Delta (LWD) filter is managed by PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM). If the automated management fails, there is a way to change the state of the LWD filter for a VM. This is achieved with the vmconfig tool that is installed on the PPDM host.
WARNING: Disabling the LWD filter cause it to stop tracking changes to the VM's virtual disks. If TSDM is used as the data mover in the future, the LWD filter cannot support a synthetic full. This is because it did not track all the changes to the virtual disks, resulting in a FULL backup. The warning is to not casually disable the filter without considering the side effects.
