NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy backups fail because the vProxy cannot lock the virtual machine at the start of the backup workflow. A previous backup operation left VM lock attributes in place after encountering a problem during execution. The stale lock prevents new backup operations from starting on the affected VM.

NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy backups fail with a "-500: Panic occurred: runtime error" when the /data01 partition on the vProxy appliance reaches 100% capacity. The /data01 partition stores backup session logs with a default retention of one month. When the partition is full, the vProxy cannot write session logs and the backup process panics.

NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy backups fail with "The VM backup request is not valid" after repeated retry attempts. The NetWorker server reports that the Data Domain (DD) has reached its maximum read stream count. The DD read stream exhaustion prevents new backup sessions from being established on the NetWorker storage node.

The NetWorker Virtual Edition (NVE) installation fails at 50% when configuring the NetWorker Authentication Service. The Authc Admin Password contains an equal sign, which is not a valid special character for the NVE password complexity check. The installation cannot proceed and the NVE must be redeployed with a compliant password.

NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy backup actions complete successfully. However, the clone action fails with "no available devices to clone." The disk volumes in the target clone pool are not set to "Appendable" mode. Without this mode, the clone action cannot write to the volumes.

A restore failed with error 11015, invalid VMDK filename; logs show cancelled browse tasks and failures, caused by a version mismatch between the Avamar proxy (19.7) and server.

Dell Avamar, Dell Networker Virtual Edition (NVE) and Dell PowerProtect DP Series Appliance / Dell Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) remediation is available for multiple vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious users to compromise the affected system.

How to Install the NetWorker Management Web UI (NWUI) software.

A VMware vCenter server is added to NetWorker using an AD account. The vCenter is integrated with Azure Entra ID and the account used within NetWorker is from Entra ID. NetWorker may incorrectly report LTO-7, LTO-8, and LTO-9 tape volumes as 100% utilized or full before their native capacity is reached. No "prematurely full" errors are observed in the daemon logs, and the issue does not affect actual tape usage, backup operations, cloning, or recoveries.

A file-level restore (FLR) performed through the NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy appliance fails while mounting virtual machine disk (VMDK) files on the target virtual machine with the error "Another task is already in progress." The FLR cleanup process also fails to remove the partially mounted VMDK files, which can prevent the VM from starting properly upon reboot. This issue occurs when the target VM is simultaneously protected by vSphere Replication Manager or another backup/replication product that holds a concurrent task on the VM.

After upgrading to NetWorker 18.2.0.0, NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxies become unavailable, libCURL error 7 occurs because the vProxy registers on an interface than the server, mismatch.
