Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system base.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, pry the base cover from the edges.
Lift the base cover off the system base.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the battery to the system.
Lift the battery out of the system.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the bracket.
Remove the bracket to access the WLAN cables.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, gently disconnect the cables from the connectors on the WLAN.
Remove the WLAN from the connector.
Wireless Module (WWAN)
Identify the wireless module (WWAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the WWAN card bracket to the system board.
Remove the bracket that secures the WWAN antenna cables.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, gently disconnect the cables from the connectors on the WWAN card.
Remove the WWAN card from the connector on the system board.
Hard Drive Assembly
Identify the hard drive assembly highlighted in blue
Disconnect the hard drive assembly cable from the connector on the system board
Remove the screws that secure the hard drive assembly to the system.
Lift the hard drive assembly out of the system.
SSD 2230
SSD (Solid State Drive)
Chassis Frame
Identify the chassis frame highlighted in blue.
Unroute the WLAN & WWAN antenna cables.
Remove the screws that secure the chassis frame to the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the chassis frame to the system chassis.
Lift the chassis frame away from the system chassis.
Speaker
Identify the speaker highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the connector on the system board.
Unroute the speaker cable from the routing clips and peel off the tapes.
Lift the speaker module from the system.
Install
Speaker
Identify the speaker location highlighted in blue.
Install the speaker module into the slots on the system.
Route the speaker cable through the clips and adhere the tapes to secure.
Connect the speaker cable to the connector on the system board.
Chassis Frame
Identify the chassis frame highlighted in blue.
Align and place the chassis frame on the system chassis.
Install the screws to secure the chassis frame to the system chassis.
Install the screws to secure the chassis frame to the system board.
Route the WLAN and WWAN cables through chassis frame.
SSD (Solid State Drive)
SSD 2230
Hard Drive Assembly
Identify the hard drive assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the hard drive assembly into the slot in the system.
Install the screws to secure the hard drive assembly to the system.
Connect the hard drive cable to the connector on the system board.
Wireless Module (WWAN)
Identify the wireless module (WWAN) location highlighted in blue.
Insert the WWAN card into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the bracket to secure the WWAN antenna cables.
Install the screw to secure the WWAN.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Insert the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the bracket to secure the antenna cables.
Install the screw to secure the WLAN.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery and align the screw holes on the battery with the system.
Tighten the screw that secures the battery to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Route the battery cable through the routing clip and connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots on the edges, press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secures the base cover to the system base.
