Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Starting at the bottom left corner, carefully pry the base cover along the bottom and sides.
Grasp the bottom and rotate it upwards to release the base cover from the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Use the tab to assist in disconnecting the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
SSD 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue
Remove the screw that secures the solid state drive and thermal shield.
Slide and lift to remove the solid state drive thermal sheid.
Lift and slide the solid state drive assembly from the system board
Remove the screw that secures the solid state drive to the bracket.
Holding the sides of the module, remove the SSD from the bracket.
Install
SSD 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Install the SSD to the holding bracket and align the screw holes.
Install the screw that secures the solid state drive to bracket.
Slide the solid state drive assembly at an angle into the solid state drive slot
Slide the solid state drive thermal bracket under the peg on the system board.
Install the screw that secures it to the system board.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align and install hinge first (careful of the cable inside the cover). Press until it clicks into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover. (requires Torx #5)
