Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover starting from the SD card slot on the base cover.
Continue prying around the bottom, left and right sides of the base cover.
Lift the bottom of the base cover and push it towards the rear of the system to remove it from the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the battery FPC bracket to the system board.
Lift the battery FPC bracket at an angle and remove it from the system
Disconnect the battery FPC cable from its connector on the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Lift the battery away from the system.
Speaker (Right)
Identify the right speaker highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the right speaker to the system.
Slightly lift the right speaker from the system.
Smart Card Reader
Identify the smart card reader highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the smart card reader cable from the USH and SD card reader daughterboard.
Peel the smart card reader cable from the system.
Remove the screws that secure the smart card reader to the system.
Slide and lift the smart card reader from the system.
Install
Smart Card Reader
Identify the smart card reader location highlighted in blue.
Install the smart card reader into the slot on the system and align with the screw holes.
Install the screws to secure the smart card reader to the system.
Adhere the smart card reader cable to the system.
Connect the smart card reader cable to its connector on the USH and SD card reader daughterboard. Close the latch to secure.
Speaker (Right)
Identify the right speaker location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the right speaker into the slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the right speaker to the system.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Align with tabs and place the battery into the slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery FPC cable to its connector on the system board.
Install the battery FPC bracket on the system.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the battery FPC bracket to the system.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the base cover on the system and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Using a Torx #5, install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
