Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the side cover to the chassis.
Pull the release latch to release the cover from the chassis.
Lift the side cover from the chassis.
Heat Sink Assembly (125 W)
Identify the heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the processor fan cable from the connector on the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the heat sink assembly to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Remove the heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video).
Processor Fan
Identify the processor fan highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the processor fan to the heat sink assembly.
Remove the processor fan from the heat sink.
Install
Processor Fan
Identify the processor fan location highlighted in blue.
Insert the processor fan into its slot in the heat sink.
Install the screws to secure the processor fan to the heat sink assembly.
Heat Sink Assembly (125 W)
Identify the heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material (as shown in the video).
Place the heat sink assembly on the chassis and align with the screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink assembly to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Connect the processor fan cable to the connector on the system board.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Locate the tabs on the side cover and slots on the chassis.
Tighten the captive screw to secure the side cover to the chassis.
