Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the bottom left and continue to work on the sides to open the base cover.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
SSD (Solid State Drive) 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD assembly to the system board.
Slide and lift the SSD assembly off the system board.
Flip over the SSD assembly.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the SSD mounting bracket.
Slide the SSD off the SSD mounting bracket.
Install
SSD (Solid State Drive) 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Place and align the SSD on the SSD mounting bracket.
Install the screw to secure the SSD to the SSD mounting bracket.
Flip over the SSD assembly.
Align the notch with the tab and slide the SSD assembly into the slot on the system board.
Install the screw that secure the thermal shield to the SSD assembly.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
