Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Place fingers into the recess at the top edge and move your hands to both sides to pry the base cover.
Lift the base cover off the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screw that secures the battery connector bracket to the system board.
Unhook and lift the battery connector bracket off the system board.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Solid State Drive 2280
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the solid state drive shield to the system board.
Slide and remove the solid state drive shield off the system board.
Slide and lift the solid state drive (SSD) from the SSD drive slot.
Install
Solid State Drive 2280
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the solid state drive (SSD) into the slot on the SSD drive slot.
Slide and insert the solid state drive shield into the peg on the system board.
Install the screw that secures the solid state drive shield to the system board.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Slide the hook of the bracket under the system board and install the bracket to the system board.
Tighten the screw that secures the battery connector bracket to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Using a Torx #5, install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
