Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the bottom left and continue to work on the sides to open the base cover.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.

SSD
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module.
Lift the bracket off the wireless module.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless module.
Slide and lift the WLAN card from the connector.
Fan
Identify the fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Slide and remove the fan off the palm rest assembly.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left display hinge to the palm rest assembly.
Lift to open the left display hinge at an angle of 90 degrees.
Disconnect the speaker I/O cable from the I/O board.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the I/O board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the I/O board cable from the I/O board.
Remove the screw that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screw that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Slide and lift the I/O board off the palm rest assembly.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board.
Peel the tape that secure the display board cable to the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the display board cable from the system board.
Disconnect the display speaker cable from the system board.
Peel the tape that secure the display cable connector latch to the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Peel the tape that secure the display speaker cable from the system.
Unroute the display speaker cable from the routing guides.
Open the display assembly to 180 degree and place it on the flat, clean surface.
Remove the screws that secure the left and right display hinges to the system.
Lift the display assembly off the palm rest assembly.
Speaker Assembly
Identify the speakers highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the speaker cables from the IO board and system board.
Unroute the speaker cables from the routing guides on the system.
Lift the speakers along with the cables off the system.
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the touchpad.
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the touchpad from the palm rest assembly.
Power Button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Lift the power button along with its cable off the system.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the USB type-C bracket from the system board.
Lift the USB type-C bracket from the system board.
Remove the screw that secure the system board to the palm rest assembly.
Lift one side and then slide the system board assembly off the palm rest assembly.
Palm Rest Assembly
After all the parts are removed, the palm rest assembly is remaining. No further steps are needed.
Identify the palm rest assembly and place on a clean, flat surface.

Palm Rest Assembly
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Slide and place the system board on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screw to secure the system board to the palm rest assembly.
Install the USB type-C port bracket in its slot on the system board.
Install the screws that secure USB type-C bracket to the system board.
Power Button
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Install the power button into the slot on the system.
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad location highlighted in blue.
Install the touchpad into their slot on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the touchpad cable to the touchpad. Close the latch to secure.
Speaker Assembly
Identify the speakers location highlighted in blue.
Install the speakers into their slots on the palm rest assembly.
Route the speaker cable through the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Connect the speaker cables to the IO board and system board.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Place the display assembly on the system and align the hinge screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left and right display hinges to the system board.
Close the display assembly and place it on the flat, clean surface.
Route the display speaker cable through the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Adhere the tape that secures the display speaker cable from the system.
Connect the display cable to the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tape that secure the display cable connector latch to the system board.
Connect the display speaker cable to the system board.
Connect the display board cable to the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tape that secure the display board cable to the system board.
Connect the keyboard cable to the system board. Close the latch to secure.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the I/O board into their slot and align the screw holes.
Install the screw that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screw that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the I/O board cable to the I/O board. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the speaker I/O cable to the I/O board.
Connect the speaker cable to the I/O board.
Close the left display hinge and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left display hinge to the palm rest assembly.
Fan
Identify the fan location highlighted in blue.
Slide and Install the fan into the slot on the palm rest assembly, and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the fan cable to its connector on the system board.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the bracket on the wireless module.
Install the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module.

Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
