How to replace the Drive 3.5 on a Poweredge T430

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Drive 3.5 and a Poweredge T430. The procedure will also include removing the Front Bezel, Drive Carrier and reinstalling them.

Removal

Front Bezel

Identify the front bezel highlighted in blue

Unlock the front bezel by using the key.

Press the release latch at the top of the bezel.

Pull the top end of the bezel away from the system.

Unhook the bezel tabs from the slots at the bottom of the system, and pull the bezel away from the system.

Drive Carrier

Select the drive carrier you want to replace

Press the release button to open the release handle.

Holding the handle, slide the drive carrier out of the drive slot.

Drive 3.5

Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.

Turn the latch release lock to the unlocked position.

Press the cover release latch and remove the system cover.

Install

Drive 3.5

Identify the front bezel location highlighted in blue

Insert the bezel tabs into the slots in the chassis.

Press the release latch, and push the bezel toward the system until the bezel locks into place.

Using the key lock the bezel.

Drive Carrier

Confirm the drive carrier you want to replace

Press the release button on the front of the drive carrier to open the release handle.

Insert the drive carrier into the slot and slide until it connects with the backplane.

Close the drive carrier release handle to lock the drive in place.

Front Bezel

Identify the front bezel location highlighted in blue

Insert the bezel tabs into the slots in the chassis.

Press the release latch, and push the bezel toward the system until the bezel locks into place.

Using the key lock the bezel.
