This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Audio Board and a Alienware M16 R2. The procedure will also include removing the Base cover, Battery Cable, Battery, Memory Module, SSD 2280, Wireless Module (WLAN), Rear I/O Cover, Fan & Heatsink Assembly, Power Adapter Port, Type-C Bracket, Display Cable, System Board Assembly and reinstalling them.
<p>Removal</p><p><br></p><p>Base cover</p><p>Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.</p><p>Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.</p><p>Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.</p><p>Using a plastic scribe, pry the basecover from bottom left and continue on the sides to loosen.</p><p>Slide and lift the base cover off the system.</p><p><br></p><p>Battery Cable</p><p>Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.</p><p>Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.</p><p>Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.</p><p><br></p><p>Battery</p><p>Identify the battery highlighted in blue.</p><p>Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.</p><p>Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.</p><p>Lift the battery to remove from the system.</p><p><br></p><p>Memory Module</p><p>Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.</p><p>Lift the mylar to access the memory.</p><p>Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end until the memory module pops up.</p><p>Slide and remove the memory module from the memory module slot.</p><p><br></p><p>SSD 2280</p><p>Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.</p><p>Remove the screw that secures the thermal shield to the system board.</p><p>Remove the screw that secures the thermal shield to the I/O board.</p><p>Lift the thermal shield off the solid state drive.</p><p>Slide and lift the solid state drive (SSD) from the cover to the system.</p><p>Remove the screws that secure the rear I/O cover to the rear of the computer.</p><p>Starting from the corner, pry the rear I/O cover out and away from the palm rest the power adapter port cable to the palm rest.</p><p>Disconnect the power adapter port cable from the system board.</p><p>Lift the power adapter port and peel the cable from the system board.</p><p><br></p><p>Type-C Bracket</p><p>Identify the type-C bracket highlighted in blue.</p><p>Remove the screws that secure the type-C bracket to the system board.</p><p>Remove the screws that secure the type-C bracket to the palm rest assembly.</p><p>Lift the type-C bracket from the palm rest assembly.</p><p><br></p><p>Display Cable</p><p>Identify the display cable highlighted in blue.</p><p>Disconnect the camera cable from the system board.</p><p>Lift the metal latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.</p><p>Peel the tapes that secure the camera cable to the system board.</p><p>Peel the tapes that secure the WLAN cable to the system board.</p><p>Unroute the camera, display and WLAN cables from the routing guides on the palm rest
