Alienware Area 51 (R1) Skylake Processor / Motherboard / EVGA 1600 P2 Power Supply Swap
Member Pasolaminado posted the below info in the forum but the PDF swap guide is no longer accessible so I've reposted it here so other users have access to the PDF (tonight & in the future), original post below
"I updated my Alienware Area 51 (R1) with an Intel Skylake Processor, EVGA motherboard and EVGA 1600 P2 power supply. Forum member Cass-Olé helped me figure out the power supply and wiring requirements for a successful swap
Cass-Olé updated the following article that covers the EVGA T2 P2 G2 Power Supplies, which have their own unique cables and pin out. The information is not applicable to any other model PSU
Instead of having a mile long post I compiled the process I went through for my component swap in a PDF file (ATTACHED)

It's odd the current case design is such a step backwards compared to the old design.

Leaving out caddies and cables and VRM heat sinks etc.
Its all about the Benjamin's. If that saves 25 dollars per system over 1 million units that's 25 million dollars.
I don't mind that but when they make buying the parts they left out impossible I find that aggravating.
Ben is watching!

I am still unhappy I did not receive all the modular cables for my 1,000 Watt Power Supply.
Only was supplied what is needed + the spares for the HDD caddies and a second video card.
There's a lot off sockets on that PSU that have no cables attached. It's not that I cheaped out on the power supply and they normally come with all the modular cables.
