The 6+2 connector can be connected to the 8 pin or 6 pin spot on the gpu. It makes the psu compatible with more gpus and cuts down the number of cables supplied with it.
Thanks @speedstep, I probably should have been clearer, the card I am looking at is a MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Z Trio HDMI 2xDP 11GB which I guess needs more power due to over-clocking.
Do you/anyone know if it is as simple as using 2x 6+2-pin and 1x 6-pin one the Area-51 R4 chassis?

2x 8-pin and 1x6-pin is over maximum power spec for PCI-E
something wrong with that

Looks like 2X 8 pin connector is what it uses.
