The white slots are DIMM 1 and DIMM 2 . . . that is my preference if I have two modules. In actuality, there may be no difference in performance, as long as the slots are the same color. However, Dell mobos can be very finicky about RAM.
If you currently have the Dell basic pancake style heatsink air cooler, easiest option is to upgrade to Dell oem AIO liquid cooler. MH0HN = 95W CPU liquid cooler (Aurora R6/R7/R8/R9/R10/R11/R12)
Re: is this cooler on the market more/better suited to aurora r12
if you mean the Dell AIO, it is 120 mm suited for R12. I do not think a non-Dell 120 mm AIO cooler will be significantly better than Dell oem AIO. It is the 120 mm radiator that is the limiting factor. For better cpu cooling, can consider a 240 mm radiator installed by modding R12 case
but I don't want to touch the case, but in your opinion there is no difference between dell's water cooler and another brand? I see on other forums the corsair 120mm(h60) water cooler is a little better than the dell one
agree w professor. any reported temperature difference btw Dell and non-Dell AIO 120 mm is within normal variation. Basically when you crank the radiator fan up, you may lower the temperature a bit more but in the end how much you can do is limited by the heat exchanger (120mm radiator).
The Dell OEM AIO CPU liquid cooler and the Corsair Hydro Series H60 (2018) AIO CPU liquid cooler are both manufactured by Asetek, and as such, there should be no discernible performance difference. You could consider running a push/pull fan configuration on your 120mm radiator. This may provide a minimal improvement in CPU temps, but will enhance the overall case air flow regime.
Consider upgrading to more quiet fans and improving overall case air flow regime; replace lower front intake fan, and add upper front intake fan in the HDD bay. Also, push/pull configuration on your 120mm radiator.
For the R12, I believe the Corsair ML120 Pro will not throw the startup error.
The Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM is a little more quiet, but may throw the startup error unless it is connected with a Y-splitter adapter cable (included with fan) to another fan that passes startup diagnostics.
I just did this update for the fans and now I was looking to put a water cooler on the cpu I was thinking about the h60 do you have any suggestions for water cooler on the cpu?

You could do something like I did with my R10. Very custom, but well worth the upgrade. I did not go crazy on the parts or knowledge needed.
R10 Project
Or you could do this mod. Some of the pictures in that thread are sadly missing.
