Aurora-R3, 2009, clean install of OS

So I need some help guys, and i’ll admit. I am not very technically savvy. I picked up a 2009 Alienware Aurora (i7-970) i’ll post the full specs on the bottom. It was $200 refurbished so I figured why not? I’m only going to be playing WoW on it, so I figured it should be plenty of computer for WoW. The problem i’m having is that it did not come with an operating system. I’ve never installed an operating system but I tried the windows 10 boot from flash drive option, and it didn’t work. Not sure if the flash drive was too new for the computer or too old for windows 10; or if the computer itself is too old to run windows 10, but I need any and all suggestions on how to get ANY operating system on there so that I can slap World of Warcraft on there and play with my friends.

Thank you!

Well, with an Intel i7-970 (or i7-720) and LGA-1366 socket ... sounds like an Aurora-R1 to me. However, it's strange that memory DIMMs are installed in pairs instead of sets of three (tri-channel).

If Aurora-R1, like this:

If truly a Aurora-R3, then like this (XPS-8300 is same tech and motherboard is very similar )

Hey Tesla, just real quick i’m Not sure if the first article goes into how to boot up from bios, it sounds like for your R1 you already had an operating system in place and you just upgraded. Correct if i’m wrong of course, just don’t see that first link working for me because there’s no OS at all on the PC right now
