Aurora R4, AlienFX LED issues, continued
Hello,
I have already asked for help before here.
I have had an issue with my AlienFX lights working since I upgraded to Windows 10 a few years back but am only beginning to attempt to diagnose the issue. In addition, it also seems that the thermal controls are also not working as they should be as I have a error with the CPU pump and a few sensors do not work correctly.
I have been reading through many of these forum pages over the past week trying to diagnose why my lights are not working. I have tried the power dissipation as well as reinstalling CC in the correct steps.
However, it seems like I cant find anything that can assist with the issue I have.
If it is to be the MIO board which I have read about, would this be a part that Dell could supply?
Would anyone be able to point me roughly in the right direction?
Thanks

Troubleshooting is very much like this:
https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-Desktops/Area-51-R1-installing-a-new-master-I-O-board/m-p/7435780/highlight/true#M20863
While the (large / dedicated) MIO-Board is largely the same ... these are some of the differences on the Aurora-R4.
- No Alienware 32bit Diagnostics to help trouble-shoot MIO-Board (outside of Windows)... a major short-coming (IMO) .
- Your proper (and "last validated and allowable version" of) Alienware Command Center (including AlienFX) is a higher and slightly better version ... up around v3.5 I would imagine.
Good luck.

Hello,
Thank you for the information you have provided!
When you say about a major short coming what do you mean by that?
In addition, with the command center are you saying that the version should not be newer than version 3.5?
Sorry for the stupid questions but not so clued up when it comes to this sort of thing.
Kind Regards,
John

Furthermore, a bit of extra information.
This issue seemed to first arise when I updated to windows 10 around 3 years ago when the upgrade program was active.
Also I have run the Alien tester and it seems to show the firmware version but the LED tester bit still does not work
