Adding 2 disk drives that are not raid configured
Hi ya all:I have a alienware Aurora R4 with two drives that are raid 0 configured. What I am trying to do is add two non raid configured hard drives to this system, since I have two drive bays left..When I installed these hard drives the system does not recognize them?? How do I make the system scan for these drives?I thought windows 8 pro would detect these drives with the plug and play function. The other scenario in this case is to add two raid o configured drives, but I don't want go this route.Any ideas? Thank-you.

Check BIOS config for HDD and also "BIOS Mode" RAID config. Make those look as accurate (reflecting actual desired config) as you can. Then (read carefully) ...

When drives are detected first time in "Disk Management" (Initialize) select MBR (if 2tb or smaller). After they appear, you can Partition them. Be sure you don't mess with existing or working drives.
