You can go to the Corsair site, put in your computer make and model and it will tell what memory you can use. My understanding is the Aurora R4 which I have, has to have either 8 or 16 gig of ram installed and it is 1600Mhz if you are going to use 16 gig.

All,

I cannot speak for retail memory but here is our data.

9W02G Patriot 2GB, 2133MHz, 256X64, 8, 240, XMP
GDN7X Hynix 2GB, 1600MHz, 256X64, 8, 240, 1RX8
VT8FP Samsung 4GB, 1600MHz, 256X64, 8, 240, 2RX8
66GKY Micron 8GB, 1600MHz, 512X64, 8, 240, 2RX8
* Four Non-ECC DDR3 Memory slots
* Maximum 32GB. The only 32GB configuration we validate is four of the Dell 66GKY 8GB,1600MHz,512X64,8,240,2RX8
* For 2133MHz XMP ram, you must go into the Bios -Advanced -Frequency/Voltage Control -Extreme Memory Profile and choose Profile 1

In addition to what Chris says you can always get the pricing information straight from DELL by sending an e-mail to AlienwareUpgrades@dell.com with your request.

To piggyback on this question as it falls within the same topic.  My R4 has 8 gig of the 2133 Patriot memory.  It is 4 sets of 2 gig.  I have ordered 16 gig (2x8) of identical Patriot memory (probably should have verified this before ordering).  All the stats on the memory are the same.  I should be able to go 8/8/2/2 for a total of 20gig memory at 2133 correct?

Thank you.

Phone support had told me this would work, but I have more faith in the forums Techs.  Any thoughts?

Hi,

I purchased 32GB of `G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory F3-10666CL9Q-32GBXL'

Amazon com sells it for $159.89 as of today. It was instantly recognized and runs flawlessly.

Thought you might like to know.

I'm just trying to figure out if it will run with that much high speed memory.  It may try to downclock the 2133

To be frank here you don't need 16gb of memory unless you need it for a particular program like Photoshop. Put it this way...if you don't know you don't need it. It will not speed up your system. In fact it can slow the system down and only a handful of programs will ever use it and those are for professional use. Now of course if you do need it for work or something then disregard what I said.

If you don't need it for work then stick with what you have.
