Alienware Recovery After Clean Windows 10 Install

I'm trying to get my Alienware 15 R2 reloaded with all the "Alienware specific" software & drivers after doing a clean install of Windows 10 Home, but several of the Alienware applications won't install and one of the drivers "detected" for my system fails installation.

First... Is there a FAQ or procedure page published by DELL somewhere that explains HOWTO recover an Alienware system after a clean install of Windows 10?  (IF THERE ISN'T THERE SHOULD BE)...

What I've done so far:

1. Clean installation of Windows 10 Home

2. I allowed the Dell System Detect software to tell me what additional drivers I needed. I let it download and install automatically and 4 of the 5 detected drivers installed with no problem. The one that fails installation is:    Chipset |Intel Management Engine Interface Driver

3. I did NOT try to install any of the other drivers that are listed for my service tag, but that were not specifically recommended by the "Dell Detect" scan.

4. I tried installing all the available applications recommended for my specific Service Tag Number. The first one I tried was the "Dell Digital Delivery Application", which failed and told me that it required .NET 3.5 even though I already have .NET 4.6 which came with Win10.

5. I installed .NET 3.5 from Microsoft and retried installing "Dell Digital Delivery Application". This time it no longer says it's failing because of .NET 3.5 but now it fails the Dell installation with an error log.

6. The following is a list of the Applications recommended for my service tag that installed successfully and those that fail:

SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED:

- Dell Update

- Dell Foundation Services

- Alienware External Graphics Amplifier Software

FAIL TO INSTALL

- Dell Digital Delivery Application

- Alienware On Screen Display Application

- Alienware Command Center 4.0 for Notebooks

*** Looking for any suggestions on how to resolve the 1 driver and the 3 applications above that are still failing. (So far Dell Tech Support hasn't been any help).

A little progress...   Found the answer to the "Chipset Intel Management Engine Interface Driver" driver error.

Apparently, Windows 10 installs the correct Intel Management Engine Interface driver for you. The driver .exe is apparently too dumb to just tell you that it's already installed and up to date. Instead, it just says Installation Failed... Duh!

You can look in your Windows Device Manager under "System devices". If "Intel(R) Management Engine Interface is already listed there already with no yellow or red icons on it, then you're good to go.

Now I'm just looking for a solution to the 3 Alienware applications that are failing to install:

- Dell Digital Delivery Application

- Alienware On Screen Display Application

- Alienware Command Center 4.0 for Notebooks

Apparently these three applications are hard coded to ONLY run if they're run locally from your DESKTOP. in Windows 10.

- Dell Digital Delivery Application

- Alienware On Screen Display Application

- Alienware Command Center 4.0 for Notebooks

They won't run from the Dell website and they won't run locally on your system if you try to execute them anywhere other then on your DESKTOP, (e.g. if you try to run them from your Download directory they'll fail too).    Really poor packaging design Dell...

In general, I never "run" any exe or installer from a website. That's really a function of the browser.

I save the file to a local drive, un-Block it, then run it. You also have a copy of what you just installed to save as an archive.

I would agree with that in MOST cases, but in the instance of installing "Drivers", the Dell/Alienware website makes a point of saying that many of their drivers MUST be installed in a specific order, which the download/install option maintains for you.   If you download them to your local drive, then the onus is on YOU to remember the order in which they must be installed.

Also, in this particular instance, just downloading these 3 particular applications to your local drive doesn't help. As I stated above, if you try to install them from ANY directory other than "Desktop", (like the Download Directory), they still fail because they've been hard coded to only work from the Desktop directory.
