You will need to put the original video card back, download the update under WIndows, and update the BIOS.  Then install the new card.

You do not need a USB stick or optical drive if the Dell GPU was re-installed. You should be able to boot back into windows. Then download and save Bios A09 R293649.exe to the windows desktop. From the windows desktop, double-click R293649.exe to install Bios A09. But this all may be moot. The Nvidia GTX 560m was never tested/validated by Dell on the M15x. At the higher wattage, that GPU may or may not function in the system, but WILL cause the temperature of the system to exceed the thermal design rating. These are the only GPUs Dell can support on the M15x =
K6654 AMD Radeon 5850m Broadway Pro
0XYPF AMD Radeon 5850m Pro
NTVGT AMD Radeon 5730m XT
479NV Nvidia GeForce GTX460m N11E-GS
WDXVH Nvidia GeForce GTX260m
KCTKH Nvidia GeForce GT240m

By the way, we did offer the Bios A09 has an ISO, M15xA09.iso. But I have no idea how to make the USB key bootable.

(Remove the check from Desktop)

GTX 460m benchmark 3DMark 2070
AMD Radeon 5850m benchmark 3DMark 2010
GTX 260m benchmark 3DMark 1160

The current used market value for the M15x is about $800. Is it worth spending $150 to upgrade the GPU? Your call.

1.i got the laptop cheap for £80 when used you can only pick them up for £1000 so yes i think spending £170 on a new GPU is worth it as i do not have enough money to buy a said new one

but thank you for your help ive orderd a new 460m GTX
