Hi ,

i wanted to Share my New Area 51 R2 Build.(June2016)

Base was

AREA 51 R2, i7-5820k, GTX960,8GB,2TB HDD, 850Watt PSU.

Check my Posts on how to Upgrade & Swap Mainboard and PSU to a Premium one.

My System now

AREA 51 R2 (Purchased March2016 )

OEM CPU AIO Cooler

OEM AREA 51 R2 Case

OEM AW LED Mini Board ( to keep the Nice LED Lights )

Mainboard  = ASUS Sabertooth X-99 Bios 3101 ( June 2016 )

CPU          = Intel i7-6850k  6 Core 3.6Ghz    ( June 2016 )  Stable 4.3Ghz OC

RAM          = 64GB DDR4 Kingston Hyper X FURY 2666Mhz 4x16GB

GPU 1     = EVGA GTX 1080 Founder Edition with EVGA Hybrid AIO Titan X Stable 2050MHz OC

GPU 2     =EVGA GTX 1080 Founder Edition with EVGA Hybrid AIO Titan X Stable 2050MHz OC

SSD 1     =512GB Samsung 950 Pro NVME PCIe V3x4 WIN10 Pro

SSD 2     =400GB Intel SSD 750Series NVME PCe V3x4   for most Played GAMES

HDD        = 8 TB RAID SET Seagate Constellation ES3 2x4TB

WIFI        = Intel AC8260 867MB/s + Bluetooth 4.1

PSU       = EVGA Supernova G2 GOLD 850 WATT with EVGA OEM Cable SET PSU

ODD      = Panasonic BLURAY Writer SLOT IN 9.5mm

The AIO coolers = Use PUSH > PULL with CORSAIR SP 120 FANS  ( 3 x QUIET Edition ) 3x Performance Edition )

also i have 2  NOCTUA FANS 120 inside for Support !

ASUS Sabertoothx99 is for me the Perfect OC MOBO with the BEST Cooling Performance it Features

a Special PWN Cooling Software that let me run both the GTX 1080 with Push> Pull at 1000.RPM

under Load the GPU´s are so nice cooled they dont go higher than 55 Celsius

as you can see i use both the GTX 1080 FE as AIO Cooled via EVGA TITAN X OEM Hybrid SET

it just fits 100% .

the EVGA Hybrid Cooling SET is an Upgrade Kit for the GTX 980TI and the TITAN X and it FITS

i also mounted the EVGA TITAN X Backplate on the Lower CARD and it runs about 3 Celsius cooler than the OEM Nvidia 1080 Backplate

For now i use 2x OLD SLI Bridge Cables until the NVIDIA HB SLI Bridge is Available

Awesome. Although I'm perfectly happy with my Area 51 R2 build for now (I've upgraded to multiple SSDs, 32GB 2400MHz RAM, and added two more Titan X's for tri-SLI), threads like this make me even more glad I purchased it because I know that at any point in the future I can upgrade anything I want inside it, even the motherboard and PSU. Thanks for posting! Bookmarked for future reference.

thx, i had 2 Titan X in SLI before , but i got a good Price for both of them just a Day before the 1080s hit Stores so i went for 1080 SLI and was very happy about the possibitly to Add EVGA Hybrid AIO to the GPU´s , i allways liked Nvidia Refrence. before i had the MSI GODLIKE GAMING X99 EATX mobo, but the LED disco Party light annoyed me. still the MSI is a good OC Board, with less Cooling Power !

now i have a ULTRA Silent Custom alienware which has Enough power to give me Real 4K 60FPS on my sony 75" Screen :)

What interface do you use to the Sony-4K HDTV? HDMI-2.x , or is there something else available?

Yeah , compared to my old TITAN X very much , the Titan X draw much more power, and get a bit over 60 Celsius under load with AIO Installed. so the 1080s are perfect so far ok , i think the 1080 TI or the Next TITAN XX ??? will be just Hardcore but that coule monts away.

Lithio, any chance you could run Fire Strike Ultra and post a screenshot or link of your results, please? You don't need a 4K monitor to run it at 4K. I'm intrigued how my setup compares to yours.

I ran Fire Strike Extreme, and got a score of 17,040 ("better than 99% of all results"), did you use the default screen resolution? My setup is an Intel Core i7-5930K, stock motherboard, and (as you know from my post above) Tri-SLI Titan X with 32GB Crucial 2400MHz RAM.

i posted all 3 Firestrikes

Fire Strike ULTRA 1.1

Firestrike Extreme 1.1

Fire Strike 1.1

my Firestrike Extreme has 17603 but with 2 x GTX 1080

if you have Triple SLI TITAN X and 17040 thats just fine

Apologies, it's late here! :-) Completely missed the Firestrike Ultra screenshot right at the top, I was further down the page where the other two Firestrike screenshots are.

I get a score of 9,949 in Firestrike Ultra, but obviously that's with an extra GPU. Looks like the 1080's are indeed very powerful cards! You must be very pleased with your setup.

With my 3x Titan X's overclocked 20% using MSI Afterburner, I can get 11,282 in Firestrike Ultra. The cards are stable at this speed, but temps run high at a max of about 88 degrees, and my computer room very quickly turns into a desert greenhouse. Think I need some liquid cooling, although it might be a lot cheaper just to open a window and/or stick to stock speeds. The in-game performance difference is barely noticeable anyway.

Hi there, im planning to swap the tacky stock MOBO from my area 51 r2 i saw in your earlier post that you had used an msi mobo what made you swith to the Asus I plan to get the Asus rampage v edition 10, also would you recommend keeping the stock cpu cooler or upgrading to a new one.

I used the Sabertooth X99 because of the more PWN FAN connectors, i use the Asus AI Suite to Control all the AIO Fans for the GTX 1080 !  the Rampage Edition 10 is the BEST mainboard it iwll fit just Fine even if it is E-ATX ! the Stock CPU Cooler is the Same Same as the Corsair H60i. so no Problem at all
