Dell Alienware M14x Motherboard????

I set my laptop on the roof of my car and drove off totally forgetting it was up there. Long story short it fell on it's corner and shattered the motherboard so I am in need of a new one. Is there any way I can order one directly from Dell or Alienware??? Will my laptop perform the same?

Hi decbee,

Accidental Damage Service covers repair and replacement for various accidental damage, not covered under limited warranty1, including spills, drops, surges, and breakage.

If the computer has Complete care warranty, Kindly private message me the service tag of the computer. To private message the service tag click my User name and click Start conversation.

Awaiting your response!

Dell Spare Parts:  1-800-372-3355

It's likely you need other parts as well, since any impact strong enough to have done that probably destroyed the hard drive, case, etc.

The warranty wouldn't have covered the damage -- only Complete Care insurance would have.

It's not impossible - call the Spare Parts number for a price (1-800-372-3355) -- but expect it not to be inexpensive.

If I renewed the warranty now, there is no way it would cover the motherboard I broke when it wasn't covered?

You'd need to ask about Complete Care -- which likely won't cover pre-existing damage (and will likely be very expensive, if you can even get it now).

You're likely better putting in a claim against your homeowner's or renter's insurance.

So it is impossible for me to order a new M14x motherboard directly from Dell?

Unfortunately, Rajesh, it appears that my warranty expired 2/21/2013.

I had XPS Technical Support and Next Business Day Support both expired on 2/21/2013.
