Yes that error that I posted shows up on boot and when you open CC and go to Thermal Controls. Chris I hope you have a chance to read this and offer advice.

I have a small probelm that has sprung up after upgrading to the latest version of the Alienware Command Center.
The AlienFX and Thermal Control icons do not appear in the system tray (notification area) on Windows start-up. They only appear after launching the Alienware Command Center and navigating to appropriate section of the command center. (IE. the AlienFX icon appears after clicking on AlienFX in the Command Center). I checked the Thermal Controler settings by right clicking the icon in the notification area after running Command Center and the option is selected in the Termal Control settings for Thermal Control to start when Windows starts, but it still does not appear in the notification area.
Also, is there now no way to disable the morph feature for zone 1 (alien head) when the computer is in sleep mode? The color can be changed, but you can't remove the actual effects for Sleep Mode (it may have always been this way, but now, the default effect is for the alien head to morph from black to orange and back again when in sleep mode, which it did not do before).
I was also wondering, were changes made to the "Flare on Startup" function? Previously, the system would flare up the vents and spin the fans once on system startup. Now, it does it twice.

If you are sure you have them properly set to start with Windows (and they are starting) then it might just be a Windows setting. Click the little tray arrow and click Customize.
After a fresh boot, TaskManager should be able to tell you if ThermalController.exe is auto-started properly.

You got me curious if ThermalController.exe is actually running based on the error I posted.
In System Tray there was no Thermal Control Icon. TaskManager shows it is not running. I tried to manually get it running by going to CC directory, clicked on ThermalController.exe and up pops the error I posted.

Try clean-installing Command Center:
Turn off your anti-virus temporarily (and keep it off through-out the whole uninstall/reinstall procedure).
Do a complete CommandCenter uninstall (with reboots and everything).
Be sure the AlienWare folder removed itself, along with any config files and/or registry settings.
Reboot again and make sure there are no errors (about missing files, etc.) on startup.
Be sure your .NET FrameWorks are installed and updated. This v2.6x release requires .NET FW 4.x .
Download the latest Command Center from support.dell.com and save it locally. Unblock the download first, and then run it.
Install CC 2.6x . Watch for any error messages. Reboot at the end.
Make at least a small change in all 3 sub-apps and Save/Apply it. Check operation.

After a complete uninstall and reinstall, the AlienFX and Thermal Controler icons now both load on startup to the notification area. It also seems to have fixed the multiple flare-ups of the vents and fans that were happening on startup.

Did all that and I still get the error I posted earlier. Also AlienFX has an issue where it will go dark by itself.

Hey Guys,
im new hear in this community and the first what i have to say is: RESPECT TO ALIENWARE! ITS THE BEST GAMING COMPUTER OF THE WORLD.
And here are my problems:
I have a problem with my case (LED control panel).
I would like to change the color of the LED on the case.
I tried it with the AlienFX and the Alien Command Center (latest version) but withoutsuccess. I have also tried using the Nvidia control panel, again without success.
In addition, the Thermal Control not detect my computer or the temperature. What can Ido so that everything runs again: (
By the way, ived tried to install the newest Alien Comannder Center (realase 17.12.2010), but its not compatible with my computer?!?!?!?!? Why not?
Thanks in advance.

I just lost CPU PUMP signal on Thermal Control since I'd installed new CC.
It's just keep displaying "RUNNING" instead of the previous CPU PUMP RPM like "1130 RPM".
Is it a modified feature to get rid of former CPU PUMP RPM or just happend to me?
Anyone who experienced the same situation?
Thanks in advance.

Same with CPU pump for me, but that's not my main problem. Since I upgraded to this version, DoorController.exe keeps failing over and over again. Never even noticed it was there before. (Aurora)
