HELP! Touchpad stopped working

I got my Alienware 17 R4 only three days ago, but the touchpad stopped working properly and I can't figure out how to fix it. It seems to think that there is a finger always in contact with it so the light won't go off and when I try to scroll up/down with a mouse, it enlarges my icons or website. I tried disabling and uninstalling the touchpad, but it just isn't doing anything. Every time I turn it back on, the damn thing resumes the constant illumination and thinks it is being used when it isn't. I could really use some help here; this is driving me crazy!
