Is the stock 850w psu sufficient to power GTX 980 Ti 2-way SLI?
I'd like to eventually add a second GTX 980 Ti to my Area 51 R2 but I'm a little concerned about the power demands such a setup will have. My other specs are as follows:
CPU: I7 5820k OC'd to 3.8 ghz (Level 2)
RAM: 32 GB DD4-2133
Nvidia GTX 980 TI
512 GB SSD + 4TB 5400 rpm
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have done it with the Area 51. It will work as long as you don't OC anything crazy. I did and it shut down my Area 51 lol. Now just go ahead and bite the bullet and pick up a bigger PSU

Nvidia mentions a 600 watt PS for one 980ti card. This takes into consideration other power needs for the average system components. The card itself uses 250 watts max for the 6+8 pin and 300 watts for the 8+8 pin, if I recall.
So a 850 PS should be sufficient as long as you are not loading up with peripherals.
