M17X Driver Issues
I acquired this Alienware M17x yesterday, all it had was the system itself and the power cable.
Upon first start up I got a no operating system message. The sticker under the laptop had a windows 7 key so I used a windows 7 disc and installed the OS
Now on to the fun part. I had audio when finished and USB connectivity.
In the order specified by this website i began downloading drivers associated with H08V2P1 service tag on the bottom of the system.
Now everything is working, I have full HD with the radeon 5870 drivers installed. The only problem im getting is no internet. My wireless doesnt show up and nothing happens when i plug an ethernet cord in.
In my devices hardware list I have 2 Base System Devices with a yellow ! indicating no drivers
Also with those there are 2 unknown devices, 1 ethernet controller, and 1 network controller
The network controller's hardware IDs are
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_422B&SUBSYS_11218086&REV_35
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_422B&SUBSYS_11218086
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_422B&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_422B&CC_0280
Anyone have any clues? as stated before, I have tried install ALL network drivers related to this computers service tag number
Thanks in advance

Sometimes the list of drivers is not complete when you try to find drivers using your service tag, I think the one you are missing is this one:

Google those IDs and/or use driver list at ftp.dell.com/.../index.html
I would try to get wired ethernet working first.

Hi!
Do you know which driver I need to install for Windows 7 32-bit?
I have the same problem and I'm totally lost, but unfortunatelly this driver doesn't work with my OS!
Thanks!!
