RE: Upgraded Memory Settings
Hi guys,
I bought this memory:
I had the understanding the it'll be fine with my system...the specs are as follows:
i7 920
12gb Ram 1066MHz
ati 5870
Win 7 64bit ultimate
Bios A11
Ever since I put this memory in I've been getting bsod ONLY on the first boot of the day. That really messed me up so I Dell sent me replacement memory for my original memory. 3x4gb sticks =12gb. I received it yesterday and popped it in. Today first boot no crashes...went straight to desktop. I would appreciate if someone could enlighten me whether this memory that I bought is even compatible or what..I did research on it and it should've been. Also if you have the same upgraded memory...what settings are you using for like the multiplier for ram...voltage, other settings to run at 1333, 1600. Thanks.

is all of your ram running at the same speed?
do you have 1333 and 1600 running at the same time?
what happens if you mix the ram is it all will run at the slowest speed of the ram installled.

You bought 6GB of 1600MHz memory to run with your 12GB of 1066MHz memory?

No mixing. Its just the new Corsair 6gb running at 1333mhz, XMP disabled (if its enabled there are still crashes so no difference really), voltage is on auto and so is the advanced dram config. This is so weird because I've tested with the original ram where I put it in at night and its fine the next day as opposed to this. So I dont know what is wrong. Memtest was run and all the sticks were fine.
