X51 R2 WiFi adapter 5GHz AC settings

My network adapter only connects to the "N" router band. I checked in the command prompt and it says that it is AC capable. I have AT&T Fiber internet with an AC wireless gateway/router. I can't find any settings to allow it to use the 5GHz radio. Any help would be great. The adapter is the "Dell Wireless 1550 802.11ac.

You are not being very clear here.

What was the command you used at the command prompt to check AC capability, does this show capability, or if it is enabled?

Do you have an AP set up on the 5GHz band of your router? Can you see this with other devices?

Check the network adapter settings in Device manager - check that 5GHz is not set to non-preferred there.

On the Killer 1535 adapter, the whole 2.4/5GHz thing is transparent, the system just switches between them when you select the relevant AP SSID in the networks available.
