upgrading alienware m17x-r4 video card
my alienware m17x-r4 currently has a geforce gtx 660m, i'd like to upgrade it to gtx 880m or higher. can it be done? if so, where do i purchase it? i don't see it in the dell's or alienware's site.

There's no video card - it's a chip soldered to the mainboard. The chip cannot be replaced short of replacing the entire mainboard (and then only to boards Dell supplied).

i know this is old but i dont believe what EJN63 said is true i have the 6970m and i can tell it its not on the mainboard and we have the same model laptops so even if his was on the board he would still have the port for the card :D
