x51 GTX 555 replacment GPU 2014
Hey guys has anyone successfully replaced the GTX 555 that came with the 2012 x51 with something new and recent? I need an upgrade for Star Citizen and I cant get a straight answer from Dell or Nvidia. Looking for the most power possible with the case and PSU limitations. Ive looked everywhere but have yet to find a successful swap to something like the GTX660 or GTX760 and so on. Is the x51 tapped out at the 555?

Hello Adam V!
The X51 R1 will handle the following video cards
Gt 640
Gt 645
Gt 660 (for this one you will need to upgrade your ac adapter to 330W)
If you want to upgrade to any other video card we cannot assure you that the system will work properly.

People on other forum are telling me the gtx 760 is safe as long as it comes with 2 6 pins and is a reference model. I found one made by Zotac. Will that work.
