Thanks for the reply...Sorry that happened....I took the plunge last night and installed it on R3....So far, all is good here.....I will never get another Alienware...Too many updates and too much trouble. Very conflicting info on what needs to be updated as well....Support Assist Ap says one thing and dells support site says another....Very Disappointed with dell.....

The new bios works fine for me on a 15 R3.

On a general note, as of now, I would never buy a laptop OTHER than an Alienware.

SupportAssist (SA) does have issues however, but none of them critical.  On the support website, SA reports that I need to update my Intel Chipset driver even though I already have.  On my R3, SA reports that no updates are available.

Interestingly, SA did not report the release of bios 1.8.0, and never told me to update.  I found the bios update myself on the support website.

I have just updated - no problems.

What changes have been implemented?

I purposely visited this site before updating my R2 because of issues I've faced with BIOS updates before, not convincing at all to update. Sorry for the inconveniences
