Area-51m, RAM works at 2400MHz instead of 2667MHz
In my Area 51m rams are 2667mhz, but in bios or fusion appears only 2400mhz, why is that? P.S. Also why all Alienware laptops still use ancient BIOS(UEFI) firmware, when all other production from inspiron to xps use much newer interface?

Hi
Even if you have RAM 2666MHz in you ALI Area-51m ,support is only for 2400.
In mine there is RAM 2666 MHz as well but BIOS reduces up to 2400
Besides with the latest BIOS 1.7.3 there isn't chance to use XMP

You mean down to 2400 but why is that, its like a technical curiosity, chip is z390 and should support up to 2666 by default, also by technical specs of a51m it should work at 2666... also my much older alienware 15r3(i7-6700hq) perfectly worked with 2666. And those lost 266mhz should improve performance overall. And still i got no TECHNICAL answer

Yes, I meant "down to 2400". It is mentioned in specification. But why not 2667, I have no idea. I suspect that because of hardware limitation.

should be some limits, but sad, it will never go for full potential of that kind cpu's... thanks for sharing my grief...

Same here. I wonder why does RAM works only @2400MHz, even though the processor (i7-9700k), the chipset (Z390) and RAM are fully compatible with 2666MHz spec.

It will be nice to have some feedback from technical support on this, the RAM is advertised as 2667Mhz in my 51M, why is this downclocked to 2400MHz ?

No chance. Perhaps in the next genaration R2 or R3. It's a pitty. I did want to change my RAM. There is no sence.

From Dell as shown in the online Area-51m R1 Setup and Specifications PDF, page 11 =
This really stinks. I own two area 51m for my gaming/streaming setup. I already try several RAM manufactures and the BIOS down clock the RAM to 2400mhz. I'm really disappointing.
