Area-51m R1, AWCC loading, but not opening

Looks like I require your assistance once more...
I was doing an update for my AWCC and it asked me tor restart and I did that but now it's stuck like this

image.pngWhen I tried to close the application and reopen it then it will give me the error that it doesn't detect any AlienFX devices and remove 2 of the tabs above "Home" & "FX" and I've left it like this for almost 2 whole hrs with no progress. from what I could see in my task manager, it is not drawing in anything but memory. Any help would be tremendously appreciated!

We are also having 17 R5 problems with this 630MB Alienware Command Center Application v5.2.91.0 that says installation successful when it fails to install any of the AlienFX 2.0 applications. This AWCC Application v5.2.91.0 is not sufficiently smart to report installation unsuccessful. Many attempts to Repair this AWCC followed by Restart do not install any of the AlienFX 2.0 applications. Win10 is struggling to fully install this very large 630MB application. Looking at the AWCC verbose installation report is meaningless for this Dell customer!

Follow these steps posted on Reddit by one of the members. This ought to solve your problem.

14) Install AWCC from Microsoft Store. Launch when installed.

15) If it tries installing other components (AW Sound Center, FX Systems, etc) go with it following prompts and verifying identity if necessary (for me facial recognition would say something went wrong, try again, though using a PIN instead worked). You may or may not get a prompt that says you already own it. If so, just click the close button on the bottom left of the prompt and continue.

16) After all, in the previous steps finish it will ask to download the content now. Click "Okay." It will run the install of these components in the background over a minute or two and you should see messages pop up to say when each is installed. AWCC app should still be up and running and you should be able to verify full access to FX and Fusion tabs again.

17) Once verified you can access FX and Fusion, reenable UAC by going to the registry (refer to step 7), and setting EnableLUA to "1" and reboot.

18) Logging back into your regular account, launch AWCC app again and it may pop up the no FX devices found message again, click okay and you should see the message about AWCC services starting at the bottom right. After 10-20 seconds there was a UAC prompt to let AWCC make changes. Click "Yes" and you should be able to access FX and Fusion from your regular account with security in place again. (It may have a pop up for a component install again and go ahead and do it if it does.)

Yeah, the AWCC has been such a hassle, to be honest. This is not the first time I've had to do something so drastic just to get it to work properly. and the thing is that it only started malfunctioning after I was asked to restart to install an update for the AWCC itself. Which isn't the first time and is and will continue to be as frustrating as ever! I am now working on factory resetting my entire PC because of this application. I got in touch with Dell and they were as stumped as I was when I tried to fix it!

Hopefully your solution is marked as the one and only WORKING solution @RuskinF.

You're pretty good at making a solution because yours worked for me!!

Hi @RuskinF thank you for your post. This is similar to the McScruffy solution posted Here. McScruffy solution has worked for other Dell customers. Worth a try.

We have used this 'solution' again, but McScruffy step 10) did not reinstate the Home or FX tabs on our 17 R5 AWCC. The AlienFX v2.0 applications were not installed. There is no installation of the AlienFX hardware tester on our laptop. Our 17 R5 laptop continues to be dark.

AWCC is currently saying "AWCC lost connection with the service. It will relaunch as soon as the connection is restablished."

Hi @Zyzzx the Reddit steps 14) to 18) are identical to McScruffy solution and their steps 14) to 18) posted Here. Will @RuskinF check and confirm that the Reddit and McScruffy solutions are identical?

Update: "AWCC lost connection with the service. It will relaunch as soon as the connection is restablished." AWCC Application v5.2.91.0 was run for two hours, did not relaunch, so was manually closed.

Hi @Zyzzx the Reddit solution is Here and its declared @McScruffy solution source is Here. Please remember to tell Dell Community if it works for your Area-51m R1.  Other AWCC solutions are posted on Reddit's Alienware.

YouTube's Alienware Here also posts AWCC solutions.

Dell's inability to fix their AWCC code is well known and a constant disappointment for their expensive gaming devices.

Repair of Alienware Command Center Application v5.2.91.0 reveals AWCC Driver problem. Win10 cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31). Error message Code 31 occurs when Windows finds that the appropriate driver for any particular hardware is not correct. Further investigation reveals Dell's AWCC application did not successfully load its files and/or applications. Dell needs to fix their AWCC code!

That is way to much work for a Dell problem. They should have a fix for this. I am not spending hours on an fx issue in alienware
