M17x R1, cpu upgrade fail?

i have a alienware m17x i was doing a cpu upgrade my socket is socket P (478)

T9600 is my factory cpu

X9100 was the cpu i was putting

the x9100 fits and i put everything back but when pressed the power button the lights went in and out in a sec and nothing turns on nothing boots and they power button only lights up but when i press it again it does the same thing just lights on but goes out in a sec and i don't know what to do but when i put the t9600 back it turns on fine like nothing happened im very confused why i did my research on the x9100 but i still don't know why it doesn't want to turn on??? please help me it'll mean a lot to me if you do?

I have to believe it is a BIOS issue as the X9100 is not one of the validated CPU upgrades for your system. Possibly a BIOS update might help, but again a non validated CPU.

ill try to do a QX9300 upgrade then.... but why does the X9100 fits in my socket?
