For everyone with this issue as well: completely re-install the Alienware Command Center application. Follow these steps: https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln303405/how-to-remove-and-reinstall-the-alienware-command-center?lang=en Make sure you follow them exactly. Then follow the link on the page to re-install it. My issue was originally for some reason the audio section was missing from the Alienware Command Center application. I re-installed it. Also recommended is you re-install the Realtek drivers for your Alienware once you remove the "Command Center" application to make sure the driver is okay, as well as install any application and driver updates in the SupportAssist application - then re-install the Alienware Command Center application.
I have the same problem with Alienware 17 R5. Nahimic randomly starts using 100% cpu. I turned offaudioeffects and equalizer from AWCC sound profiles but it didnt help.
Purchased a 2019 Alienware M15. I was suffering from the problem. I was watching a youtube video and the nahimic would grab 100% of the CPU and laptop fans would kick into high gear. Searched for a solution on the internet with no success. I dug through Windows Registries and filesystem and realized the solution was rather simple for me. I don't care about the nahimic offering. My goal was to disable it without losing the core Alienware Command Center functionality. Here is what worked for me. Go to Windows Services and shutdown the nahimic service. I also change the startup mode to be manual (from automatic). Command Center works but there is no longer Audio options. Personally, I don't care.
Dell Alienware, It would be great if you didn't ship a laptop with a faulty build.
I had an issue with Nahimic Service not allowing me to use my microphone in programs called Snagit and Camtasia. The solution was for me to go to the task manager and open services. I went to the Nahimic service and disabled it. I no longer have any issues.

Hi,
Please try updating the Intel rapid storage driver using this link: https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=FXGNY&osCode=WT64A&productCode=alienware-15-r4
After doing this, test the system again to confirm if the same thing happens with the Nahimic service.
