m15 R5, OS recovery partition, restore size?

Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5

Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5

Once my windows fail, I use the ghost to backup the windows partition. Before restoring, I decide to change the partition size to have more space for my data partition. All the operation is on the same SSD. Now I realize there is a factory restoration I can use and tools from dell with the factory image and partition. Now when I access it from the boot it only shows the icon and did not boot into the system. I heard from some other post said it is about the partition size should be fixed to apply the image and now I don't have the correct size bit. How should I fix that? All files in the Dell Support and Image partition are intact. just not in its original partition sizes.

Hi @ForceUnleash  welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

In Search (bottom LH corner of screen) type Disk Management and use shift + windows + s key combination to capture (snip) image so that it can be shared in your next post.

Is there some reason why Ghost is seemingly not available to reinstate all OS(C:) boot drive partitions?

Which Operating system is being used?

How to use Factory Reset, Restore, or Reinstall Microsoft Windows on a Dell computer | Dell US

I am able to restore from the ghost but that is after I reinstalled the whole windows. Now my backup seems to work, just some driver didn't seems to work out.

I currently need to access the hyper-v support function but my computer cannot enable the feature. I also couldn't find the switch in bios setting. I am wondering if it is the system problem. All my backup not working when enabling this feature. In other word, I cannot use vmware or hyper-v, looking a way of fixing the problem. I have the original image from dell recovery partition just don't know how to use it.

Hi I think inside the BIOS the virtualisation setting should be inside one of the setting tabs. Also make sure secure boot was enabled before you installed the recovery operating system as that plays a part in hyper v being enabled

Check this video out but the computer he uses is a DELL.

I have view the bios setting. At my end it does not have the option to enable cpu-v. The secure boot is on at deploy mode. When I boot into the supportAssist OS Recovery tool will show this screen and not moving further.

Also, I don't have the option to boot to dell os recovery from advanced reboot menu. Can someone send me an copy of the original file in the EFI partition? I think it is the BCD boot entry missing.
