Avamar + PortChannel clean-up

Server-Manamgent.jpg

Hey everyone -

We have an Avamar solution (behind DELL PowerEdge R710) with a couple of nodes.  Graphic Server-Manamgent.jpg GUI attached -

Connecting to the main chassis via ssh, I can see two (2) "bonds" - one bond for public network, other for private network.  However, both are terminating onto a Cisco switch as one (1) LACP aggregate (Po4).  Not seeing any LACP errors from the switch, but getting plenty of retransmissions when analysing via Wireshark.

Question to the form - without site history, am guessing there should be two (2) LACP aggregates - one for public backups and another for a "future" Avamar solution in case the company would want to daisy-chain "at some later date" - but would it be as simple as bonding the "inside" aggregate to a separate, quiet network?

We're cheap-skates and let our maintenance lapse - mostly looking for a forum chin-wag on this, all responses - regardless of technical merit - welcomed!

Regards,

Christopher

Avamar only supports active/passive bonding mode. So LACP is not suitable here.
