ODBC MCS database access via Excel 2007 with Windows 7 64bit

Hi,

I am trying to get access to the MCS database via Excel to an Avamar 7.1 AVE. I have configured the ODBC driver accordingly. But when I want to connect to the database with Excel, it keeps telling me that the driver is not compatible with the application. I figured that it might be the 64bit ODBC Postgresql driver which is not compatible with Excel 2007. When I do a connection test, it tells me that the connection is good.

Any idea how I can get this to work. It worked fine with Windows XP and Excel 2003 in the old days.

Thanks and regards,

Ludwig

Yes, I have installed the 32 bit drivers. But when trying to configure the DSN in ODBC setup, only the 64 bit drivers are visible for selection.

you will need to find the 32bit ODBC configuration utility on your PC (use google) and configure DSN from there.

Nice hint, thanks! I have configured ODBC DSN from here now;

c:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

and I was able to connect to the MCS database via Excel now.
