avamar 6.0 + exchange mailbox sub folder issue

ive just noticed that in several mailboxes where subfolder names include a / (i.e. test/dev) that additional folders are being created (i.e test/dev will have two subfolders one called test and one called dev) in my users mailboxes. ive seen this so far in 3 different mailboxes and im guessing it is organization wide. the only thing that has changed in our environment is an upgrade to avamar 6.0. has anyone else seen this behaviour?
