This looks like a configuration issue for me .
- Which Avamar server version and build you are using ?
- Which vSphere version (ESX host).
have you configured VSC as FQDN or a short name ?

Hello Valentina,
As far as I know there are some issues with vSphere 4.1.0 and Avamar 5.0 SP3.
I suggest you to upgrade to teh 4.1.1 first.

Virtual server center version, but as far as I can see you have 4.1.0.
Have you configured your virtual server center (using port 443 in Avamar GUI) to user short name or fully qualified domain name ?

Hello Rej Pervan, the Avamar and vSphere versions are:
Avamar Administrator Client v5.0.3.29
Avamar Administrator Server v5.0.3.29
vShere Client Version 4.1.0 build 258902
vCenter Server version 4.1.0 build 258902
About VSC, What is the meaning of VSC?
Thanks!

If it's taking the snapshot, backing up the .vmx files and then failing when it tries to back up the disk, check to make sure that port 902 is open from the proxy to the ESX hosts.

please try to add a flag to your dataset that is, -click More at your bottom right on the last tap of the data set window- :
[avvcbimage]quiesce = false
