how to migrate from Avamar Single node G3 to new and bigger G4 single node
I'm wondering is there's a procedure how to migrate from Avamar Single node G3 v5 to a new and bigger G4 v6 single node server.
The goal is to migrate backup data as well.

You could use Replication FULL from existing G3 single v5 to a new G4 v6 .
This is the way how to perform such things ….
I will check for some documents and will be back to you ASAP.

Hi Rej,
I have to do the same this week.
My plan is to do a root-to-root replication from the old Gen3 servers to the Gen4 servers. All the servers have av6Sp1 istalled.
The migration should bring everthing to the new systems, Datasets, Backup-Data, Schedules, Clients, ...
I hope this will work like that.
Another question is if it is possible to delete all the backup data on the Gen3 servers, so that they can be used as fresh servers. Background is that we want to keep everything but the backup data on the Gen3 servers.
If this is not possible I have to kickstart the Gen3 servers and konfigure them again, which is a lot of work. Or can we wait until all retentions have been run out and so the data should be deleted by gc?

Was there ever a process document located for this? I am working with a customer who wants to do exactly this and the ProcGen is no help.

Just have to perform a full system replication for this.
